Well the time has come for me to start a blog to follow my painting. My wife has a 40K Ork army that is over 6500 points and while accumulating that we have about another 2000 points that are unpainted. Since I have always loved the Bad Moon Ork Clan I decided to paint these ones up like them. That way they can be a separate Ork army and can intermingle with the others to make a huge WAAAGH!!! Also I have wanted to try a new method of painting Yellow and I have a new Green recipe I want to try.
To start with I painted up a test model, an Ork Nob I got in a issue of White Dwarf when the Black Reach box set came out. The model is completely box stock without any conversion work. The yellow turned out good, but I think a darker base coat would give me the look I want. The yellow is a base of Iyanden Darksun, Sunburst Yellow, Devlen Mud wash, Sunburst Yellow, Yellow ink, and a light edge of Bad Moon Yellow. The green on the other hand turned out just as I had hoped, it is a base coat of Iyanden Darksun with multiple layers of green wash in varying degrees.
Now on to the pics of my test model.
Next update will feature the Battle Wagon I just started.
Thanks for looking,
Manny
